THANK YOU MILDRED MOOSE .AND THE 1965 GRADUATING CLASS OF ROBINSON HIGH SCHOOL TAMPA FLORIDA !
WHO IS MILDRED MOOSE YOU MIGHT ASK?..
53 years ago this June,
I attended my older brother's graduation.
I knew all the SENIOR NOTABLES, NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY, MAJORETTES, CHEERLEADERS, all the athletes on every team.....So as each received their diploma I applauded with everyone, sometimes I found myself applauding alone and other times many people applauded.
BUT WHEN MILDRED MOOSE WALKED ACROSS THE STAGE AND RECEIVED HER DIPLOMA, THE ENTIRE STUDENT BODY STOOD AND GAVE HER A STANDING OVATION AND APPLAUDED!
I was confused and ashamed I didn't know her,
or who she was, so as soon as I could reach my brother, I asked him.. "Who is MILDRED MOOSE."
He looked at me as if I were an idiot and answered in his usual dry humor.. "She's the only one who can vote."..
.AT THAT TIME YOU HAD TO BE 21..
I stood there perplexed for a moment then the epiphany struck.
MILDRED NEVER GAVE UP!
THE WHOLE SCHOOL LOVED HER ! SHE WAS AN INSPIRATION TO ALL! BE LIKE MILDRED ..INSPIRE PEOPLE! NEVER GIVE UP!
THANK YOU GRADUATING CLASS OF 1965 ,ROBINSON HIGH SCHOOL TAMPA FLORIDA FOR TEACHING A VALUABLE LIFELONG LESSON. YOU RECOGNIZED MILDRED'S HER STRUGGLE. YOU APPRECIATED HER STRENGTH AND ENCOURAGED MILDRED.
